Der Erkenntnisgewinn ist eher darin zu sehen, dass Borer sagen musste, wo er steht. Stark verkürzt: Er ist der pragmatische Realpolitiker (ein weisser Schimmel, ein Pleonasmus), der sich mit den USA, die nun mal die führende Weltmacht sind, arrangieren will. Und das am liebsten in der Rolle des guten Freundes. Aus seinem Schlusswort: Die USA haben in der Geschichte bewiesen, dass sie letztlich immer eine milde, liberale Macht waren, die sich auf ihre Grundwerte Demokratie, Menschenrechte, Rechtsstaat besinnt (...)
