Das von der Financial Times herausgegebene Investoren-Magazin “Foreign Direct Investment (fDi)” hat Basel zur European City of the Future 2004/2005 gewählt. Basel konnte sich unter mehr als 140 Bewerbungen durchsetzen.

Das ist schlicht gelogen. Was schreibt fDi genau zu Basel? Basel ist in Zentraleuropa "Schweizer Stadt der Zukunft". Also quasi: Basel ist die grösste Stadt in der Nordwestschweiz... Booooaaah, bin ich beeindruckt! Und welches ist in Zentraleuropa die Schweizer Region der Zukunft gemäss fDi? "The greater Zurich region"! Solche Rankings sind nichtmal das Papier wert, auf das sie gedruckt werden.
