(Aljazeera) A battalion of the new Iraqi army refused to go to Falluja earlier this week to support US Marines besieging the town, American military commanders have said. US Army Major General Paul Eaton said the Iraqi soldiers had told the American military they had not signed up to fight fellow Iraqis, according to the Washington Post on Sunday.

Am ersten Besuchstag bildeten sich lange Schlangen, aber nicht wegen des grossen Andrangs. «Das ist wie bei der Expo – stehen, stehen, stehen», klagte am Tutanchamun-Eröffnungstag eine Besucherin vor dem Antikenmuseum. In der Tat: Bis zu einer Stunde Warten war angesagt, obwohl sich der Andrang noch in sehr engen Grenzen hielt. Unter dem Vordach fanden jedenfalls alle Interessierten längstens Platz. Einen Strich durch die Rechnung machte den Veranstaltern das Internet. Es hatte den Geist aufgegeben. Dadurch verlangsamte sich die Ticketausgabe massiv.

Und wer hat dem Tut "das Internet" gebracht, das da den Geist aufgab, grad als es ernst galt? Die da, die sich weiterhin trauen, auf ihrer Referenzen-Seite, das Antikenmuseum aufzuführen...

Kameramann von Aljazeera berichtet per Handy, aus der zu seinem Büro in Falluja gehörenden Toilette kommend, habe er plötzlich einen Zielfernrohrlaser auf der Brust: "'Back at our office the Americans are shooting at us. I walk out of the bathroom and a laser is pointed at my chest,' he says, referring to US sharpshooters in the area."
