Es ist bereits eine Selbsthilfegruppe der vom "Frozen-iMac-Syndrom" Betroffenen am Entstehen. Ich wart noch mit Beitreten. Erst mal das Update testen, <a href=docs.info.apple.com target=_blank>das heut' Nacht rauskam (Danke Frau Brack!). Wenn's dann nicht bessert, was <a href=discussions.apple.com target=_blank>offenbar passieren kann, wandert die Kiste zurück! <a href=discussions.apple.com target=_blank>Den Comment mag ich am besten:

I just did the 1.3 update even though my new mac is running fine. I figured since it said it was for ALL 24" iMacs that I should listen to Mr. Jobs and do the update - couldn't hurt right? That's what started all this was an update, right? Well, I did it... I clicked on update, put in my password and crossed my fingers that my mac would be running just as good after this "new and improved" update. So I sit waiting while my mac restarts. I get some message about cache or something or other - I click ok and get a blue screen for a couple of seconds before it goes black and attempts the restart. Well, it stays black the a DOS looking screen comes up and says NO BOOTABLE DISC FOUND. PLEASE INSERT A BOOTABLE DISC AND PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE. ---um ***?!! I tried this a couple of times and the same thing. I even tried putting in my OS X disc but pressing "ANY" key did nothing. I finally had to hold down "C" whit my disc in and go into the utilities and tell it where to boot from. It's as thought this "update" made it forget who or what it was. Whatever, it booted just fine after that and I even tried it again just to make sure. I don't know that I will trust any updates from Apple now. Should we? From what I am reading it only made the issues worse for those that are having problems. And for those with no problems - like me - it made my mac forget where to boot from...
